Malocclusion in human population and attempts to treat these conditions has been evident since early civilization. There is a very thin line between normal occlusion and malocclusion. Malocclusion can be referred to as those irregularities of the teeth beyond accepted range of normal. Malocclusion is not just the criteria for treatment. If patient is being benefited esthetically and functionally should only be considered for treatment.
